What we do

The Cluster Munition Coalition is a global civil society coalition of hundreds of organizations working for a world without cluster munitions, where the suffering caused by these weapons has ended, and where the rights of victims are upheld and realized.

The Investing in Action small grants programme seeks to encourage national-level activities advocating for governments to ratify or accede to the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) and the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty (MBT), to enhance its implementation, and/or to increase the stigmatisation of landmines and cluster munitions. The programme supports member organization activities through two related streams – the Investing in Action, and Together in Action small grants.

Through Investing in Action grants, campaign members at national level are empowered to carry out advocacy for the universalization and full implementation of the Mine Ban Treaty and Convention on Cluster Munitions, as well as disseminating and publicizing Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor report information.

The Together in Action grant is a continuation of the ICBL-CMC Survivor Network Project, and is designed to support survivors and persons with disabilities by facilitating their work in contributing to victim assistance efforts at country level, and to ensure their effective participation in national and international advocacy efforts related to the MBT and the CCM.

In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the heightened challenges that landmine survivors and persons with disabilities have faced, the Together in Action grant played a significant role in 2020 in strengthening survivor networks at national level, within the framework of the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the Mine Ban Treaty.
